China’s subways made of carbon fiber composite materials completed the trial operation and passed the acceptance. The main structure fully applied carbon fiber composite materials, and the weight of the whole vehicle was reduced by 13%

On December 17, the High-Tech Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology organized a project acceptance meeting in Qingdao. The next-generation subway train project, the national science and technology support plan led by CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd., successfully passed the acceptance of the expert group. This indicates that China has achieved the latest technological achievements in the field of subway trains.

At the acceptance meeting, 13 experts and scholars from domestic research institutes, universities, and enterprises formed an acceptance expert group to review the project. By checking the sample car on site, listening to the report of the project results and after the inquiry and discussion, the expert group unanimously agreed that the project passed the acceptance.

According to reports, the next generation of subway trains is a new generation of subways in China for future application research and development. R & D started in 2015; the prototype was assembled and rolled off the assembly line in 2018; the factory test was completed in June 2019, and the line test and operation demonstration were completed on the actual operating line Guangzhou Metro Line 8 in September. From starting R & D to passing acceptance, it took four years to tackle the problem.

The next generation of subway trains uses a lot of advanced new materials, new technologies, and new systems. Compared with traditional subways, it has significant technical advantages such as lighter, more energy-saving, more comfortable, smarter, and more adaptable. The direction of technological development is known as the "future subway".

The body is lighter. The car uses advanced carbon fiber technology. The car body, bogie frame, driver's cab, equipment compartment, etc. are all made of carbon fiber composite materials. For the first time, the carbon fiber composite materials are fully applied to the main structure of the train, and the weight of the whole car is reduced by 13%.

More energy-efficient operation. The "lighter" body reduces operating energy consumption. At the same time, energy-saving technologies such as a new type silicon carbide permanent magnet synchronous traction system, pneumatic drag reduction design and regenerative braking full feedback are also used, and the train's comprehensive energy saving reaches 30%.

The ride is more comfortable. The vehicle adopts new sound insulation and noise reduction materials, structure and technology, and the noise in the vehicle is reduced by more than 5 decibels. At the same time equipped with a fully active suspension system, the train runs more smoothly.

More intelligent. The maximum speed of the car can reach 140 kilometers per hour, which is faster than the ordinary subway. The passenger system is also smarter. The car window is transformed into a touch screen, passengers can surf the Internet on the car window, buy tickets, watch news, flash video … Not only that, the car uses advanced intelligent operation and maintenance technology to achieve holographic real-time status monitoring, Early warning and active operation and maintenance on the way, vehicle operation and maintenance guarantee is more intelligent.

More adaptable. Unlike the traditional subway fixed marshalling, the car can be "flexibly marshalled", which can be arbitrarily matched with cars within the range of 2 to 12 knots, improving operational efficiency and reducing operating costs. At the same time, it adapts to the harsher operating environment and can operate under conditions of high temperature, high cold, high altitude, small curves, and large ramps.

It is reported that the next generation of subway trains completed the line test and operation demonstration on the actual operating lines, passed the acceptance, and possessed industrialization capabilities. In the future, the application of next-generation subway train technology will surely lead the further upgrade of China's subway vehicle technology.
