Designed and manufactured by ZGZY Metallurgical Technology Group, China's first compatible slab, rectangular billet, and shaped billet composite continuous casting machine with fully independent intellectual property rights was first started in the LNHX Casting Technology Group in mid March 2023 and the dummy ingots were smoothly removed.
Hot test section is 500 × four hundred and seventy × 180mm, production steel grade Q235B, normal equipment operation, stable casting process, and successful hot test.
The maximum heavy-duty and profiled/special shaped blank section reserved for this continuous caster is 1300x520x140mm.
The equipment solves the technical problem of uneven temperature distribution on the surface of the shaped billet, which is prone to cracks; The innovative application of automatic dummy bar stripping technology to heavy shaped blanks greatly simplifies dummy bar plugging operations and saves the cost of casting parts; Using profiled/special shaped billets instead of bloom to roll H-beams saves customers manufacturing costs in the rolling process and effectively improves their competitiveness.
The composite heavy-duty profiled/special shaped billet caster has successfully started pouring shaped billets, laying a good foundation for the subsequent key research and development of super large H-beam projects and providing technical support.
