Chinese 25k-50K large tow carbon fiber achieves industrial production Hay:D02JLHX

On July 24, the China Textile Industry Federation organized a project appraisal meeting for “25K-50K polyacrylonitrile-based precursor and carbon fiber key technologies and industrialization development”. Experts of the appraisal committee agreed that the overall technology of the project reached the international advanced level.

 

The “25K-50K Polyacrylonitrile-based Yarn and Carbon Fiber Key Technology and Industrialization Development” project is a scientific and technological guidance project of the China Textile Industry Federation, jointly undertaken by JLHX Carbon Fiber Technology Group, JLJG Gong Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd. and Changchun University of Technology.

 

The project appraisal committee consists of Jiang Shicheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Xu Lianghua, director of the National Carbon Fiber Engineering Technology Research Center.

 

The appraisal committee believes that the project uses a self-developed non-metal ion inorganic redox initiation system to develop a high-quality polyacrylonitrile suitable for preparing large tow carbon fiber precursors. Developed DMAC wet two-step spinning technology for the production of homogeneous structured filaments, and achieved stable production of 25K-50K filaments with a single line of 5,000 tons.

 

Developed constant tension control technology for large tow fiber in the pre-oxidation process, combined with intelligent temperature control and automatic decoking process, to achieve stable production of single-line 2000-ton 25K-50K carbon fiber. The project has independent intellectual property rights and has applied for 3 patents. The project forms a production capacity of 16,000 tons of large tow carbon fiber raw silk and an annual output of 4,000 tons of large tow carbon fiber. The production and operation is safe and stable. Its product performance is comparable to similar international products. It has been widely used in wind power blades, rail transit, sports and leisure. Supplies and other fields have good economic and social benefits.

 

The appraisal committee believes that the project has completed the requirements specified in the mandate and the overall technology has reached the international advanced level. They have agreed to pass the appraisal and recommend that JLHX further expand the market and accelerate the application.

 

Song Dewu, Chairman of JLHX Group, said that the appraisal marked a substantial breakthrough in the technology of Jilin Chemical Fiber Large Tow Carbon Fiber Production after more than 10 years of scientific and technological research, and also marked the real industrialization of China’s 25k-50K large tow carbon fiber. In the next step, Jilin Chemical Fiber will further improve the stability of large tow carbon fiber precursors and carbon filament production, accelerate the development of differentiated products, and better meet new market demands.
