Chinese automaker signs a contract with flying car maker AeroMobil, both parties announce cooperation on multifunctional flying car project

During the first China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "Expo Expo"), the AeroMobil flying car attracted a lot of attention and found a Chinese partner on the last day of the Expo expo. On November 10, Baoneng Motors and AeroMobil from Slovakia exhibited a strategic cooperation framework agreement, and the two parties announced that they would cooperate on a multi-purpose flying vehicle project.

According to the agreement, the cooperation content between Baoneng Automobile and AeroMobil flying car project includes technology research and development, sales channels, and product localization. AeroMobil will rely on the existing resources of Baoneng Automobile for brand promotion and product application. The two parties agreed to share, build a sales network and common technology research and development at an appropriate time, and jointly promote the localization of flying car projects in the future.

"Flying car" means a car that can fly in the air or on land. In March 2009, the world's first flying car flew for the first time in the United States. After landing, the wings can be folded and driven onto the highway with the press of a button.

It is understood that AeroMobil from Slovakia is a technology company engaged in the development and industrialization of flying cars, and has a certain reputation in the industry. The company ’s flying car product AeroMobil 4.0 STOL can be transformed from a car into an “airplane” within 3 minutes. With a hybrid power system, the flying car can travel on land at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour and fly at 360 kilometers in the air. The cruising range is 750 kilometers.

In fact, with the increasing traffic congestion, as a vehicle that can fly away from fixed roads and rely on urban roads relatively little, flying cars have gradually been favored by the industry in recent years and attracted a large number of companies to join them. .

Since 2018, German startup Volocopter, invested by Daimler and powered by Intel, has created an electric helicopter-like drone that can transport passengers over the city, and plans to conduct its first commercial trip in the next three to five years; Uber The company also announced that commercial testing of unmanned flying cars will begin in 2020, and flying cars will be officially sold in 2023.

At the same time, in China, as a representative of OEMs, Geely Automobile's layout in the field of flying cars is mainly achieved by acquiring the American flying car company Terrafugia. In September, Taili Company announced that the world's first mass-produced flying car produced by the company will start accepting reservations in mid-October and will be delivered in 2019.

It is worth noting that flying cars have become a new outlet in the mobile travel market. Aeromobil CEO Juraj Vaculik said that in the future, the output value of flying cars will account for one third of the automotive industry, reaching $ 1 trillion, and the value of flying car technology-related industries will reach $ 3 trillion.

At present, the companies involved in the field of flying cars are mainly divided into three categories: the first category is automobile companies such as Porsche, Geely and Porsche; the second category is aviation giants such as Boeing and Airbus; the third category is technology companies such as Uber and Google . These cars have already invested heavily in this field, trying to seize the lead in the fast-growing flying car market.

According to industry insiders, in recent years, Baoneng Automobile has successively made arrangements in the automotive industry through such methods as subjective cars, and this flying car project will undoubtedly receive sufficient financial support from Baoneng.
