Shanghai HH Carbon Fiber Composite Material Co., Ltd. was formed by 9 graduate students from East China University of Science and Technology, The team focused on the development of high-performance carbon fiber thermoplastic composites. The CF / PEEK composite products developed by the team were superior to similar foreign products.

This composite material is resistant to high temperature and corrosion, strong impact resistance, high plasticity, and also has self-lubrication, wear resistance, X-ray transmission, radiation resistance and other characteristics. Materials with these characteristics can be used in aircraft manufacturing to replace some metal materials, which can reduce the quality of the fuselage, reduce the use of fuel and reduce carbon emissions. Related products have been approved when potential suppliers of large domestic aircrafts conduct trials. In addition, this composite material can also be widely used in aerospace, energy industry, transportation, medical equipment and other fields.

Mr. Shan from the China Aviation Composites team, under the guidance of Mr. Zhou Xiaodong from the School of Chemical Engineering, East China University of Science and Technology, has made CF / PEEK composite materials his own research topic. Hong Cheng and Chen Yu from the same laboratory also joined to form a startup team. After unremitting efforts and repeated attempts, the team overcomes the problems of high processing temperature of PEEK resin, high melt viscosity, and difficulty in fully impregnating fibers, improved the production process and production equipment, and successfully developed high-performance CF / PEEK composite materials and applied for Invention patent. Today, the China Airlines team has 3 invention patents and 4 written letters of intent for cooperation. At the same time, the team also won the Shanghai Gold Award and the National Silver Award of the Fourth China Internet Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the Shanghai Youth Award and the National Silver Award of the 2018 "Creation of Youth" National University Entrepreneurship Competition.

According to the survey, limited by high technical barriers, there are only a few companies in the world that can produce CF / PEEK composite materials. At present, domestic research and development of this material is still in the laboratory stage, and there is no industrial production capacity. However, China's large aircraft, high-speed trains, automobile industry, nuclear power engineering, etc. have a very urgent demand for this material. Today, high-performance fiber and its composite materials-related industries are developing rapidly around the world, and the demand for lightweight, recyclable, and environmentally-friendly materials is also increasing. If large-scale application of relevant materials in the manufacturing industry can improve the level of lightweight technology in the manufacturing industry. Therefore, since the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", China attaches great importance to the research and development and application of high-performance fiber composite materials, and has formulated corresponding strategic plans.
