Chinese composite material manufacturer and CIMC Offshore Engineering jointly developed super honeycomb sheet composite helicopter platform successfully passed the fire resistance test Hay:D02SZSY

On November 29th, CIMC Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as "CIMC Offshore Engineering") and SZSY New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. jointly completed the fire test of the composite helicopter platform. The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) witnessed the whole test process.

The development of the helicopter platform uses super honeycomb panels based on the latest composite materials, which has the advantages of light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, fire resistance and heat insulation. Compared with traditional metal helicopter platforms, the weight reduction is more than 50%. At the same time, the cost is lower than the aluminum helicopter platform, which can be widely used in ships and offshore platforms, marine fishery platforms, urban high-rise buildings, medical equipment, general aviation market, etc.

New composite materials are widely used in high-end equipment manufacturing fields such as aerospace and automotive, but the promotion and application in the field of marine and marine engineering is still in its infancy. CIMC Offshore led the joint research and development of composite helicopter platforms with SZSY, and promoted ABS to formulate the world's first composite helicopter platform demonstration specification, which promoted the application of composite materials in the marine engineering industry.
