Chinese diamond manufacturer release large size polycrystalline diamonds Hay:B06ZZJT

On June 10, 2016, entrusted by the HN Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Science and Technology Bureau organized experts to conduct a scientific and technological achievement appraisal on the "Direct Conversion Method Synthesis of Large Size Polycrystalline Diamond" project applied for by ZZJT Superhard Materials Technology Corporation. The appraisal committee is composed of renowned experts from institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou Machinery Research Institute, and the Superhard Materials Branch of the China Machine Tool Industry Association.

The project team explored the mechanism and technical approach of synthesizing large-scale polycrystalline diamond using direct conversion method under ultra-high pressure and high temperature conditions. The complete set of high-temperature and high-pressure equipment required for synthesis was successfully developed, and the synthesis process technology of large-scale polycrystalline diamond was developed. High quality and large-scale diamond samples were obtained, with a smooth and crack free surface The Vickers hardness is greater than 130GPa (the Vickers hardness of single crystal diamond is generally 80-120 GPa).

This project fills the technological gap in the field of large-sized polycrystalline diamonds in China, and the overall technology has reached the international advanced level, achieving international leading levels in grain size and color control.
