Chinese invisible braces 3D printing company completes hundreds of millions of C round of financing

In March 2019, Shanghai Zhengya Dental Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Zhengya Dental), which is engaged in 3D printing of invisible braces, announced the completion of C round of hundreds of millions of RMB financing. This round of financing was jointly led by CICC Kaichen and Gaoke Xinjun. Round B lead investor Yuansheng Venture Capital continued to follow up, and well-known institutions such as Cornerstone Capital and Qianhai Mother Fund followed suit.

In September 2017, Zhengya Dental received a round B investment of RMB 50 million. Investors include Yuansheng Venture Capital and Chende Capital.

Founded in 2004, Zhengya Dental Technology specializes in the research and development of digital orthodontic technology, services, and the manufacture of customized invisible appliance. It is one of the leading brands in China's invisible orthodontics industry. As a national brand, Zhengya Dental Technology continuously promotes the progress and development of orthodontics in China with its technology and technology.

Many people do not quite understand the process of 3D printing invisible braces. Transparent braces are not directly 3D printed. 3D printing is a link in manufacturing, which is mainly used to print dental molds.

Because the design of each dental mold is different, and the height of the dental mold is very short, it is most suitable to use SLA 3D printing technology. However, the efficiency and cost are better than traditional manufacturing methods. Therefore, invisible braces have become a flashpoint for the application of 3D printing technology.

With the need for consumption upgrades, invisible braces are being used to replace traditional wire braces. Although the cost of customizing a set of invisible braces at a dental clinic is still not low, many parents are willing to spend this money for their children.

At present, relatively large chain dental clinics have launched customized services for invisible braces. On Weibo, ads from these clinics can often be seen.

In the search index of the search engine, it can be seen that since 2014, the search volume of "invisible braces" has begun to increase significantly, and invisible orthodontics has become a new trend in consumption. I believe this is also an important reason why capital is bullish on this direction.

In addition to Zhengya Dental, there are several well-known invisible braces manufacturers, the largest of which is the "Hidden Beauty" in the United States. Its factory claims to produce 1.6 million invisible braces in one week. This means that 1.6 million dental molds need to be printed. This amount is already very large for the current 3D printing industry. It can be said that it is a classic case for mass custom production. In addition, the domestic "time angel" is also very well-known in the production of invisible braces.

In the healthcare industry, the most direct advantages of 3D printing technology can be seen in the dental field. Various 3D printer manufacturers have released AM (Additive Manufacturing) systems specifically for dental applications, and dental clinics have seen the cost of installing 3D printers. And time advantage. From surgical guides to dental trays and even crown molds and orthotics, 3D printing offers unprecedented ease of customization.

3D printing is now constantly infiltrating into traditional industrial production. Instead of just printing prototypes, it goes one step further and prints directly used objects.
