Polestar 1 uses carbon fiber materials on a large scale from the body structure to the side panels, including the engine compartment cover, trunk cover, side wing panels, doors and the entire roof structure. These lightweight, high-strength, high-performance carbon fiber parts are all molded and manufactured by JSHR.

Thanks to the design and application of these carbon fiber parts, the body weight of the Polestar 1 has been reduced by 230 kg, and the weight of the upper body panel has been reduced, thereby reducing the center of gravity of the Polestar 1, bringing agile and dynamic driving experience to the car . At the same time, the chassis floor is connected by a unique "dragonfly structure" made of carbon fiber material, which significantly enhances the torsional rigidity and increases the torsional rigidity of the Polestar 1 vehicle by 45%, creating its outstanding dynamic response.

Manufacturing of large-size and complex-shaped carbon fiber parts

JSHR is a side panel assembly manufactured by China Changan Automobile's first carbon fiber-aluminum alloy hybrid structure body, which is an important structural component of the body. Successfully achieved technical research and breakthroughs in manufacturing precision control and manufacturing process consistency of large-size, complex-shaped, and variable-section auto parts. One of the components of the assembly, the A-pillar lower inner plate component adopts the rapid prototyping HP-RTM process, which can effectively reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Hybrid materials, structural enhancement applications become a trend

The glass fiber SMC + carbon fiber reinforced battery pack displayed by JSHR is integrated with the embedded metal parts of the upper cover and the SMC matrix; the special-shaped air filter box is manufactured by combining 3 processes; the glass fiber leaf spring improves the NVH performance, weighing only 2.2KG, and is designed Realize function integration; use recycled carbon fiber + PA6 combined with carbon fiber prepreg with 4-point local reinforced injection molding C-pillar reinforcement, carbon fiber type 4 hydrogen storage tank adopts wet winding process, and the inner tank adopts PA, which can store about 0.4KG hydrogen.
