On April 25, Shanshan issued a foreign investment announcement, agreeing that Shanshan Energy, a controlling subsidiary, plans to invest about 1.58 billion yuan in fixed assets, invest in a lithium ion battery high nickel cathode material project, and design a comprehensive capacity of 28,800 tons / year . The announcement shows that the main content of the construction is to invest in the construction of two high-nickel cathode material production workshops. The project cycle is about 21 months, and the location is still set at the Changsha base. Compared with the Changsha project of "100,000 tons of lithium electric power battery materials" which started in 2018, the positive electrode materials invested this time are more clear. The main focus is on high nickel positive electrodes (NCM811 and NCA), which no longer cover other ternary models, cobalt acid Lithium, lithium manganate and other materials.

Shanshan Energy has achieved year-on-year growth in revenue for three consecutive years. In 2018, it achieved revenue of 4.668 billion yuan and a net profit of 515 million yuan. Its profitability has increased significantly.

Excellent product and leading capacity

In terms of products, Shanshan Energy's high nickel 811 ternary capacity is as high as 200mAh / g, low residual lithium, and excellent cycle performance. It has successively passed relevant customer certifications and realized volume sales since 2018.

In terms of production capacity, Shanshan Energy currently has a production capacity of 60,000 tons of cathode materials. The 100,000-ton cathode material project in the first phase and the first phase of the 10,000-ton project has been put into trial production at the end of 2018, and a high-nickel 03 workshop with an annual output of 5,000 tons has also been started. It is expected to start production in 2019.

At the same time, Shanshan Energy also launched an annual output of 7,200 tons of high nickel ternary and precursor projects in Shizuishan, Ningxia.
