Chinese manufacturer of super large seamless ring forgings provides wind power flanges for Vattenfall Hay:T03SDYL

As the offshore wind power industry matures and costs continue to fall, zero subsidies for offshore wind power have slowly begun. Among them, the Swedish Vattenfall Waterfall Group is at the forefront of the team and is about to build the world's first zero-subsidy wind farm, Hollandse Kust. Zuid (hereinafter referred to as HKZ), this will also be the world's largest offshore wind farm.

In mid-June, the current 71 sets of tower flanges of the project began to be sent from SDYL Heavy Industry Technology Group to major tower factories in Europe. This is also another 10 MW+ class that SDYL has undertaken after China Dongfang Electric Group Co., Ltd. 10 MW, China Haizhuang Wind Power Co., Ltd. 10 MW, Vestas Wind System A/S 12 MW, and 14 MW models. To ensure that the wind turbine can stand stably on the sea for 25-30 years, the quality of key structural components such as flanges must be effectively controlled, which is the prerequisite for everything. Therefore, European owners and general contractors usually strictly control such components, adopt a ‘access competition’ model, and carry out strict certification audits on flange suppliers. Only suppliers on the approved list can be purchased.

Vattenfall currently operates approximately 50 wind farms in 5 countries. The HKZ wind farm is expected to be fully operational in 2023, with a total planned installed capacity of 1.5GW, using 140 Siemens Gamesa 11MW wind turbines.
