Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Oneplus unveiled new concept phone at CES 2020, using electrochromic materials, the color change time of glass is as short as 0.7 seconds

The first concept machine of the "niche" brand OnePlus finally made a stunning appearance at the CES 2020 Consumer Electronics Show. The model of this OnePlus concept machine is Concept One. Although the model is very straightforward and easy to understand, the performance of this concept machine is better than this low-key name.

It is understood that the front of the Concept One's fuselage is designed with a full-scale lifting screen, with micro-arc treatment on both sides of the screen, the width of the upper and lower borders is ideal, and the front face value is perfect. However, compared to its almost perfect front, the back of the Concept One's fuselage is the design focus of this phone.

The Concept One's fuselage back is made of leather and glass, and the leather on both sides uses the papaya color used by McLaren supercars, which is bright and passionate. It is worth noting that the leather of the Back of the Concept One is hand-made, and after many complicated steps, the fineness and no loss of crafts.

The middle frame of the mobile phone connected to leather uses a complex but environmentally friendly PVD process, and the original aluminum alloy surface is plated with a layer of real gold. The same color system makes the Concept One's gold-plated middle frame complement the leather back cover, and the high-profile luxurious color highlights the high-quality texture of jewelry.

In the middle of the two pieces of leather is a glass panel with a wide width and a narrow width. Compared with fine leather and gold-plated frame, this glass is also very promising. This glass is electrochromic glass, which is generally used in airplanes and sports cars to achieve reversible changes in color and transparency under the action of an electric field.

OnePlus applied electrochromic glass to smartphones for the first time, so that the rear camera module of the phone could be "hidden" under the glass, which could be called "hidden rear camera". The color change time of this glass is as short as 0.7 seconds under the action of the electrochromic material. That is to say, the conversion time of Concept One's rear camera module from "none to nothing" is about 0.7 seconds.

This means that under normal circumstances, the specific design of the rear camera module of the mobile phone will be “hidden” by the electrochromic glass before others can see it. What's more noteworthy is that this glass can also be used as a neutral density filter when taking pictures, reducing the amount of light entering by about three levels, which can avoid overexposure problems to a certain extent.
