70% of the high-performance polyimide (PI) films used for high thermal conductivity graphite sheets in this series of mobile phones are from the Chinese PI film manufacturer: ZZSD Advanced Materials Technology Corporation.
At present, the company has the only chemical imine film production line in China that realizes batch manufacturing.
PI film is also called "golden film". After the high-performance PI film is inked with high-temperature carbon, it can obtain thermal conductive graphite sheet with thermal conductivity several times that of copper, which is the best solution to the heat dissipation problem of electronic products at present.
It is reported that foreign PI membrane enterprises have monopolized the market for a long time by virtue of advanced chemical imidization technology.

ZZSD launched the research and development of PI film project in 2011, and has overcome the problems of formulation technology, equipment technology and film making process successively. At the end of 2017, it built the first chemical imine PI film production line in China, with an annual production capacity of 800 tons, becoming the fourth supplier in the world and the first supplier with batch capacity in China.
After batch trial, the product quality has reached the level of similar products in the United States and Japan, which can replace imported products. At present, it has been successfully applied to Huawei, VIVO and other mobile phone brands.
"The cooperation with Samsung marks the first time in 50 years that China's PI film industry has had a PI brand recognized by international mainstream terminals.
This has built a bridge for Chinese PI film manufacturers to directly connect with electronic terminals, and laid a foundation for the market introduction of other new products such as 5G PI and transparent PI.
In addition to being used in electronic products, PI films also play an important role in motor insulation and protection systems of rail transit, aerospace, etc. due to their high temperature resistance and electrical insulation characteristics.
At present, ZZSD has started the application and import of PI film in the motor insulation system of rail vehicles, which is expected to be loaded and operated this year.
The company has completed the construction of the second phase production facilities, with a new capacity of 3000 tons/year.
