Chinese silicon carbide ceramics SDST company’s compound diamond wire saw and high-performance silicon carbide ceramics ultra-fine powder project selected as key industrial projects Hay:B01SDST

In late August, Shandong held a groundbreaking ceremony for the intensive construction of key industrial projects. One company of SDST Abrasive Materials Co., Ltd. invested and was selected into two key industrial projects at the same time. These include the second phase of an investment of RMB 1 billion with an annual output of 3 billion meters of composite diamond wire saws, and an investment of RMB 300 million with an annual output of 1,000 tons of high-performance silicon carbide ceramics.

The diamond wire saw project has begun construction in January last year. The company has a full set of technology for the preparation of electroplated diamond wire saws (including the preparation technology and equipment with intellectual property rights). The production efficiency of this technology is 10 times that of conventional plating technology. The hardness is twice that of the current market products, and the controllability of roundness is greater than 0.85. The technical level and quality of the products have reached the domestic leading level. The project invested in 83100 square meters of new supporting workshops, sewage treatment stations and other supporting projects, and purchased and installed 700 diamond wire saw production lines, forming a production scale of 3 billion meters of diamond wire saws.

The silicon carbide ceramic project was started in November last year. It adopts two processes of pressureless sintering and reaction sintering to prepare high-performance silicon carbide ceramics. The project has purchased and installed more than 200 sets (sets) of advanced domestic silicon carbide ceramic production and testing equipment. After completion, it can produce 1,000 tons of high-performance silicon carbide ceramics annually.

SDST Grinding was first dominated by silicon carbide fine powder. With development, it has now become a well-known domestic super-hard powder R & D and manufacturing base. In 2016, Yamada Grinding signed an academician workstation with Academician Xu Binshi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and his team. It is reported that at the beginning of 2018, the academician workstation has achieved important results in nano-SiC self-repairing additive technology, and is currently conducting the next stage of research and development.
