Chinese sound insulation material companies have made important breakthroughs in noise reduction technology based on thin-film acoustic metamaterials Hay:F02ZGDK

With the development of urban construction, the scale of the power grid continues to expand, and many substations have penetrated into the city center hinterland. The boundary noise limit of urban substations is one of the very important control parameters. The use of low-noise power equipment and the arrangement of vibration and noise reduction measures are two commonly used control methods.

ZGDK Acoustic Materials Research Institute Co., Ltd. closely combines the development of the power grid and the actual needs of the project, and has carried out long-term noise environmental monitoring and noise management of power transmission and transformation projects. Recently, a new noise reduction technology for power transformers based on thin-film acoustic metamaterials led by ZGDK has achieved an important breakthrough. This technology can reduce the 100Hz narrow-band noise of transformers by 7dB, and has a significant suppression effect on low-frequency noise in urban substations.

ZGDK senior engineer Ma Yuchao told Hay Think that the membrane acoustic metamaterial is a sound insulation board composed of special materials and structures. Common membrane acoustic metamaterials use a certain mass weight to attach to the center of the membrane, and set a boundary around the membrane. An effective sound insulation peak is formed between the two resonance frequencies of the membrane quality system. The result is the negative stiffness effect between the membrane and the mass block, which realizes the total reflection of sound waves and limitedly improves the low-frequency sound insulation performance of the acoustic panel. The noise reduction frequency band of this acoustic metamaterial is very matched with the noise characteristics of large power transformers, with excellent pertinence and low cost. With the gradual optimization of product technology in the future, the durability of the material will continue to increase. New acoustic metamaterials will reduce noise in power transformers. The field will have broad application prospects.
