It is reported that the drive system weighs less than 80kg and can provide two rated power outputs of 120kW (163Ps) or 150kW (204Ps). The new drive system will also be put into operation at the mainland plant in Tianjin in the third quarter of 2019.
The new drive system has an integrated design or will be mounted on the rear axle of the vehicle. Because the motor, reducer and other components are integrated, the weight of the entire pure electric drive system is less than 80kg, and there are two rated output powers of 120kW (163Ps) or 150kW (204Ps). As an example, the output power is 310N · m. In the third quarter of this year, the drive system will be officially put into operation at the Continental plant in Tianjin.
Continental claims that the new pure electric drive system will be put into use in China and Europe. At the same time, Andreas Wolf, CEO of Continental Powertrain Business, also said that Continental's electric drive system will become a key element of innovative cars.
