In response to the South China market demand, Nanya decided to start the expansion plan of copper foil substrate and fiberglass cloth in the Huizhou plant, with an annual output scale of 13.2 million sheets and 102 million meters. It is expected to report to the board of directors for discussion in March. After completion and production, the annual production scale of South Asian copper foil substrates will leap to 85.56 million pieces, surpassing Jiantao of the mainland, and it is expected to embrace the global leading position of electronic materials.
Nanya's demand for PC and mobile phone materials, industrial computers, automotive electronics, etc. has been booming. In addition, electric vehicles have grown by 50% in recent years. Demand for copper foil orders for lithium batteries has risen. There is even a trend of oversupply.
Optimistic about the demand for this wave of electronic materials to actively promote energy, South Asia plans to start a series of production expansion plans, including automotive PVC rubber, copper foil, copper foil substrates and fiberglass cloth.
Among them, Nanya (Nantong) started an expansion of 7.2 million yards of PVC tape to provide domestic automotive market demand, thereby expanding the production of PVC rubber to an annual output of 39.6 million yards. It is expected that after completion and commissioning in the first half of 2018, the second-stage expansion of the same scale will be launched when the operating rate has risen to 70%.
In addition, South Asia's DRAM alliance partner Micron sees that the next generation of market opportunities will fall on the connected car market. At present, it has already sent products for certification. It is expected that mass production and shipment will begin as soon as 2020, and it will enter the connected car market. Because Taiwan is an important production base for Micron, and Nandian, a subsidiary of South Asia, also announced that it will lock up the development of automotive and SiP product lines, which is conducive to expanding the scope of alliance cultivation in the future.
