Corning and Pfizer recently announced the signing of a long-term procurement and supply agreement for Corning Valor® Glass. Under this multi-year agreement, Corning will supply Valor Glass vials to some of Pfizer's currently marketed drugs. This agreement is awaiting regulatory approval.
Since the first cooperation with Corning, Pfizer has been evaluating the performance of Valor Glass in a variety of sterile production lines, with different specifications of vials, through a variety of drugs in the series of sterile injection product portfolio. During this period, Valor Glass was accepted and initially evaluated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)'s Emerging Technology Project.

Corning's Valor Glass packaging solutions are designed to have excellent chemical stability and resistance to shattering, breakage, and glass microparticle contamination. In addition, Valor Glass has a low-friction external coating, which improves the production efficiency of drug manufacturers by enhancing the online output of drugs to ensure the quality of drugs.
FDA encourages Pfizer and Corning to adopt emerging technologies such as Valor Glass to improve the quality of biopharmaceutical products on a larger scale.
