Corning to Introduce Polarcor ™ 0.12mm Glass Polarizers for Telecom and Datacom Industries

Corning today announced that it will showcase its range of advanced optical products at the Munich Shanghai Expo , one of Asia's largest exhibitions of optoelectronic technology and laser applications, which will be held in Shanghai, China from March 20th to 22nd.

The Shanghai Optical Expo in Munich has continued to grow and become one of the most important exhibitions for laser technology in various industries. This year, Corning will expand its booth and exhibition range to showcase more innovative products.

These include industry-leading semiconductor manufacturing materials, optical materials for OLED device manufacturing, laser optical products for lithography, precision optics for OEM applications, special optical fibers and glass polarizers for the telecommunications industry, and hyperspectral imaging products , And precision glass solutions for mobile consumer electronics such as augmented reality wearables.

This year, Corning will launch two new products, a thinner Polarcor ™ 0.12mm glass polarizer and a more advanced MicroHSI ™ 425 hyperspectral imaging sensor.

Polarcor ™ 0.12mm takes full advantage of Polarcor ™ 's market-leading performance in a new thinner form. It was developed specifically for applications in the telecommunications and data communications industries, which are requiring slim form factor and high performance polarizers to save data center space and provide design flexibility for transceiver manufacturers to further improve communications speed.

The MicroHSI ™ 425 sensor is a miniaturized hyperspectral imaging (HSI) product. This product uses Corning's popular MicroHSI ™ 410 SHARK and is currently widely used in other remote sensing systems such as aerial agricultural monitoring. MicroHSI ™ 425 is the first and only commercial 400-2500nm HIS product that does not require dual sensors.

Corning's Advanced Optics business leverages the company's extensive experience in glass science and optical physics to help customers overcome optical technology challenges through customized designs, cutting-edge optical materials, and complete systems. Corning's product technology in advanced optics includes high-quality materials such as Corning ULE® and HPFS®, measurement capabilities, automatic laser glass cutting technology, and optical design capabilities.

"We are very proud of Corning's world-leading portfolio of optical materials and technology solutions, which are key factors in the development of key semiconductor processes such as photolithography, process control, and planar metrology," said Cassandra Taliaferro, commercial director of Corning's Advanced Optics business. Customers trust us thanks to our expertise in durable crystals and glass materials, metrology instruments and precision optical systems. We are excited to showcase these capabilities and products at this year's Munich Shanghai Expo. "
