On April 28, 2022, HNXG, a leading low-temperature steel manufacturer in China, delivered the first batch of 5.5Ni steel for ultra-low temperature (-196 ℃) tanks to a German customer, marking the company’s filling of the technological gap in this steel category in China.
The low-temperature 5.5Ni steel plate delivered this time is used for the large-scale chemical ultra-low temperature pressure storage tank project of a German client, which requires very high low-temperature performance.
HNXG has multiple nickel based low-temperature steel products, such as 06Ni9DR steel plate and low-temperature 5.5Ni steel, making it the first enterprise in China and one of the few in the world to produce this steel in bulk.
5.5Ni steel is a rising star in the low-temperature nickel series steel family, with excellent low-temperature performance. It is widely used in the manufacturing of transportation and storage tank devices such as liquefied ethylene and liquefied natural gas, and has the characteristics of high welding difficulty and complex process parameters.
During the research and development process, HNXG has developed a specialized supporting process technology for 5.5Ni steel, successfully solving numerous difficulties in the production process. The comprehensive performance of the steel plate is excellent, and the overall technical performance of the product reaches the international leading level.
