Delivery of the world’s longest polyurethane wind blade developed by a Chinese carbon fiber manufacturer

The polyurethane wind power blades developed by Times New Materials, a subsidiary of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, have been successfully delivered to Yuanjing Energy, and are planned to be installed on-hook in July this year. This 121 type polyurethane wind blade is 2.2 MW class, weighs about 13.7 tons, and is 59.5 meters long. It is the world's longest new high-performance polyurethane wind blade.

This wind power blade was successfully developed in September 2017 and is currently the world's first innovative polyurethane wind power blade to achieve mass production. In order to ensure that the blade can run stably under the harsh environment, Times New Materials has passed the static test, fatigue test and 6-month on-hook assessment of the blade in 2018.

Compared with traditional epoxy resin materials, the new polyurethane resin has more excellent mechanical properties and anti-fatigue performance, fast curing speed, good processing performance, better interface binding force with glass fiber and carbon fiber, which helps improve production Efficiency and reduced production costs. According to production data statistics, the pouring amount of polyurethane resin is lower than that of epoxy resin, and the pouring curing efficiency has been improved by 40%.
