The equipment introduced this time is most suitable for the production of anti-reflection films for automotive displays and mobile IT products. The total investment amount is 8 billion yen (approximately 440 million yuan). After mass production, the total production capacity of anti-reflective film will be 1.5 times that of the current one.
Dexerials' anti-reflection film is a metal oxide film formed with nanometer precision using sputtering (Sputtering, *Note) technology, and is widely used in vehicle display screens and mobile IT equipment. In order to meet the market demand for the above-mentioned end products, Dexerials plans to expand the production of anti-reflective film in 2023 and start mass production in 2024 in the mid-term business plan (2019-2023 "Challenge for Progress") that is currently being promoted.
However, due to the current hot semiconductor market, Dexerials' current orders for vehicle display and mobile IT products are expected to exceed the initial production capacity expectations. Based on the above situation, Dexerials decided to advance the plan by one year, that is, to start operating equipment in April 2023 and start mass production in sequence. Therefore, this investment will include the introduction of new equipment, as well as the reconstruction of existing plants and the construction of new plants.
The equipment introduced this time adopts a special design. The equipment adopts the vacuum evaporation method to form the most surface anti-fouling layer, and can also achieve the continuous formation of the anti-reflection layer and the anti-fouling layer, so that it can be produced more efficiently and with higher quality. "HD Series", a cutting-edge anti-reflection film with high durability. By advancing the application in the field of in-vehicle display screens (requiring higher durability) and the new generation of mobile IT products that highlight contemporary trends, we strive to expand the target customer base.
The details of the equipment investment of 8 billion yen are as follows: 5 billion yen (approximately RMB 275 million) will be used to invest in equipment, and 3 billion yen (approximately RMB 165 million) will be used to renovate the headquarters' Tochigi office and build new factories. .
