Dow Chemical partners with FuenixEnter to produce 100% recycled plastic

Yesterday, Dow Chemical announced an agreement with the Fuenix Ecogy Group, based in Weert, the Netherlands, which will supply Dow with pyrolysis oil feedstock. Pyrolysis oil feedstock is made from recycled plastic waste. This raw material will be supplied to Dow's production facility in Terneupp, the Netherlands, for the production of new polymers.

The cooperation agreement marks an important step for both parties in strengthening raw material recycling, that is, the decomposition of mixed plastic waste into its original form to produce new virgin polymers. Polymers produced using this pyrolysis oil have the same properties as polymers produced using conventional feedstocks. Therefore, it can be used in the same fields of application, including food packaging.

The agreement embodies Dow Chemical's strategy to create a plastic circular economy by improving resource efficiency and incorporating recycled plastic and renewable raw materials into its production processes. In this way, the used plastics will have further value as they are recycled. The agreement also helps Dow achieve its goal of having at least 100,000 tons of recycled plastic in its products sold in the European Union by 2025.

"We believe that plastic products are of great value and should not be thrown away as waste, but should be part of a circular economy." "We work with our South American partners for the school Development of building materials made from recycled plastic. We also use recycled plastic when we build roads in Southeast Asia, Mexico, and the United States. Working with Fuenix is another important step towards the future we want, and our vision is to achieve recycling Sustainable production of polymers. "

Fuenix CEO SirtMellema said: "Working with Dow provides us with the opportunity to expand the use of technology. Our goal is to fully tap the value of plastic waste to produce new recycled plastics while significantly reducing the use of raw materials and carbon dioxide worldwide Emissions. We are excited to work with Dow to advance this program and look forward to making our due contribution in advancing the production of more sustainable materials. "

At K 2019, Dusseldorf, Germany, October 16-23, Dow Chemical will showcase its recycled product portfolio. K 2019 is the world's largest plastics and rubber trade show.
