DSM Stanyl® Diablo polyamide 46 (PA46) is used in the hot air pipes of new pickup trucks. This material is specially designed for high temperature blow molding hot air pipes. Compared with alternative products based on PA66, the improved pipeline exhibits higher peak values, excellent strength, excellent thermal cycling performance and strength retention after thermal aging.

DSM's Stanyl® PA46

Stanyl is DSM's first high-temperature polyamide and the only aliphatic polyamide in the high-temperature nylon category. The symmetry of 46 structure ensures that the polymer produces higher crystallization speed and higher crystallinity. Due to its excellent mechanical properties, wear and friction properties, and fluidity, Stanyl becomes an ideal material for high temperature applications.

Stanyl can be used in automobiles, electrical appliances, gears, and outdoor power supply equipment. It provides unparalleled performance and value for applications that require excellent heat resistance, design stiffness, friction and wear, and demanding process quality.

Since Stanyl can maintain high rigidity at high temperatures up to 160°C, it is very suitable for applications with high temperature, high performance, and high torque requirements. The performance in this application is even better than PPA, PA6T, PA9T, It is usually better than PPS and LCP.
