DuPont (NYSE: DD) has always been well aware of the importance of promoting sustainable development through innovative technologies and green and environmentally friendly chemical applications. DuPont officially announced that its latest BLUEDGE polymer-based flame retardant technology licensing partner is SDXR New Materials Co., Ltd.
BLUEDGE technology is a green and sustainable polymer flame retardant. It can replace traditional flame retardants widely used in extruded polystyrene (XPS) and expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam insulation products that are widely used in the construction industry. It replaces HBCD, which has been proven to be a flame retardant that is harmful to humans and the environment, and has been phased out in North America, Europe and parts of Asia. China plans to ban HBCD by the end of 2021.
SDXR New Materials is a leading manufacturer of XPS / EPS exterior wall insulation flame retardants in China. Incorporating BLUEDGE technology into its current product portfolio is a natural improvement and complement. The new technology will enable Xu Rui New Materials to smoothly adjust to the production of the next generation of environmentally friendly flame retardants. The leading production scale, technical capabilities, good government relations, long-term and stable cooperation with XPS / EPS manufacturers and channel advantages of SDXR New Materials make it the third DuPont BLUEDGE technology authorized cooperative enterprise in the world.
So far, SDXR New Materials, together with LANXESS Chemicals and ICL Industrial Products Corporation (ICL-IP), have obtained DuPont BLUEDGE technology licenses.
