DuPont is investing more than $ 80 million in a new manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, eastern China. The new plant will produce high-end composite engineering plastics and adhesives to serve customers in the transportation, electronics, industrial and consumer markets. The project is expected to be operational in 2020 and the expansion will extend to 2023. DuPont leaders and Zhangjiagang government officials signed the agreement at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

The production base is located in the Yangtze River International Chemical Industrial Park in Jiangsu and will support the growing demand for professional materials for DuPont Transportation and Advanced Polymers (T & AP) businesses. The investment in the new compounding production line will focus on DuPont's Zytel polyamide (PA) engineering plastics, Delrin acetal (POM) resin, Hytrel thermoplastic polyester, Multibase thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), lubricants and specialty silicone resin materials. The plant plans to install a new automotive adhesives production line and produce more specialty products in the future, making it DuPont's first multi-business manufacturing plant in China.
