DuPont Performance Materials invests in new processing equipment SOFFIAGIO TECNICA in Asia Pacific

Shanghai, China, On May 12, DuPont held its unveiling ceremony at the China Research and Development Center (CRDC) in Shanghai to celebrate the successful installation of ST ("SOFFIAGIO TECNICA") three-dimensional suction blow molding machine. The new equipment will provide strong technical support for DuPont customers in the automotive industry in China and the Asia Pacific region to develop applications for turbocharged engine air lines. This is DuPont's second three-dimensional blow molding equipment invested in the Asia-Pacific region following the first three-dimensional suction blow molding machine installed in its Japanese technology in 2015. This continued investment reflects DuPont's commitment to working closely with customers in the field of application development.

The newly installed three-dimensional blow molding machine has unique and advanced functions, which can process complicated three-dimensional air tubes that traditional blow molding machines cannot complete. At the same time, DuPont also developed corresponding simulation analysis software to simulate the blow molding process and predict the torsional forming process of the parison in the mold to help optimize product and mold design. The simulation software and 3D blow molding equipment will help customers shorten application development cycles and reduce development costs.

Three-dimensional blow-molded air tubes provide advanced weight and cost reduction solutions for turbocharged engines. Compared to Europe, the application of three-dimensional vacuum suction blow molding in the Asia-Pacific region to develop air lines has not been around for a long time. However, under strict regulations and increasing requirements for reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency, the number of turbocharged vehicles in China has achieved double-digit growth in the past five years, and is expected to double again in the next five years.

"The installation of this three-dimensional blow molding machine is designed to support the development and promotion of blow molding technology, and to provide our important customers with rapid prototypes, processing, materials research, application development, training, technology transfer, assembly technology, and adoption of policies Analyze differential technology solutions that optimize parts and mold design to help them succeed in the market. Due to the rapid increase in demand for turbocharged engines, the market for 3D blown air ducts has developed rapidly. DuPont's new 3D blow Plastics capabilities will provide customers in the Asia-Pacific automotive industry with richer tools and resources and create more value, "said Woong Chung, technical service and R & D manager for the Asia-Pacific region of DuPont Performance Materials.
