DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions announces the introduction of a new brand, DuPont ™ Fortasun ™ Photovoltaic Silicone Materials, for its flagship product lines, Tedlar® backsheet material and Solamet® conductive paste

The original Dow Corning silicone series product is now renamed Fortasun ™, adding DuPont photovoltaic materials solutions. Its excellent performance has been verified for more than 30 years in outdoor performance, which can reduce the cost of electricity.

At the Shanghai 2019 SNEC Solar Photovoltaic Exhibition held recently, DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions announced that it has introduced a new brand for its flagship product series Tedlar® backsheet material and Solamet® conductive paste, DuPont ™ Fortasun ™ photovoltaic silicone material.

Leveraging Dow Corning's decades of experience, the new photovoltaic silicone product line includes sealants, adhesives, potting agents, encapsulants and conductive adhesives, all of which have the same outstanding performance and proven reliability of DuPont.

These products have been used in photovoltaic applications for more than 30 years and now they have a new brand name Fortasun ™.

Dan Barish, global business manager for TCS and photovoltaic silicones, said, "The new silicone product family Fortasun ™ represents high quality and reliability, and has the same reliable performance as our Tedlar® and Solamet® brands with more than 30 years of outdoor performance verification . "

He also said that Fortasun ™ improves the durability, stability, efficiency, and overall performance of photovoltaic modules, and helps reduce electricity costs and long-term cost of ownership.

Fortasun ™ 's durability includes protection against delamination and corrosion. This helps the performance of photovoltaic modules achieve the expected return on customer investment in photovoltaic systems.

Fortasun ™ also has long-lasting UV stability, high thermal conductivity formula, extremely high adhesive strength, which reduces failures caused by moisture, and also has electrical insulation.

Barish noted that DuPont ™ Fortasun ™ adhesives and sealants are proven to withstand extreme climatic conditions, ensuring that energy needs are met around the world. It also helps reduce the risk of performance degradation due to environmental factors and can greatly extend the life of photovoltaic modules and solar concentrating cells.
