On March 14, 2017, Dürr China headquarters in Qingpu Industrial Park in Shanghai was officially put into use. The project cost a total of about 180 million yuan and is a complex of office and technical services.
As the new base of the Dürr Group's coating and environmental protection technology operating activities in the Chinese market, Dürr China headquarters provides customers in the Chinese market with many services including product testing and training.
Dürr Group CEO Ralf W. Dieter said, "Dur China headquarters represents Dur Group's commitment to the Chinese market. It has laid the foundation for us to further strengthen customer relationships and close cooperation.
The new park covers a total area of 20,000 m2, of which about 1/5 is the verification center. Here, Dürr will provide pre-commissioning services for painting robots for Chinese customers. "This is a new localization service that will save customers valuable time," said Ralf W. Dieter. Prior to this, Dürr provided robot pre-commissioning services for the Chinese market in Germany.
The test center covering about 2,000 m2 is another brand new facility. It can help customers complete many product tests and paint tests in China, which were previously performed in Germany. In addition, the new training center (2,600 m2) will provide plant-based personnel with practice-oriented training. The total office space is nearly 9,000 m2. Reiner Schmid, CEO of Dürr China, said: "Here, under the same roof, customers can get all the services needed for efficient project execution-from design to project management and software programming." The service team has also been integrated into the new park.
Dürr China headquarters is located in Qingpu Industrial Park, not far from Dur Qingpu production plant, which facilitates the communication and operation of the coating and environmental protection business in the Chinese market.
The investment project is yet another move for Dürr Group to further expand its operating activities in the Chinese market. As early as 2013, Dürr Group has opened a mechanical engineering business complex in the Shanghai Baoshan area.
