Electrovaya develops lithium-ion ceramic diaphragm battery for electric passenger cars and commercial vehicles

Electrovaya and Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) develop safe and durable lithium ion ceramic batteries that can be used in electric passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Currently, the contract has an initial payment.

SDTC helps Canadian companies accelerate the pace of R & D and global deployment of competitive clean technology solutions. Electric buses and commercial vehicles have a long daily running time, and require the battery to work under fluctuating driving cycles and achieve fast charging. The long-term working circuits of these vehicles are similar to those of Materials Handling Electric Vehicles (MHEVs), and Electrovaya has developed corresponding lithium-ion battery technology for the latter.

Electrovaya's batteries are available in a large number of MHEVs and Automated Guided Vehicles, which are used by Fortune 500 companies in the logistics industry and manufacturing.

The two bus manufacturers have partnered with Electrovaya to become members of the SDTC funding support program. One of them is a European manufacturer, which is growing rapidly and has plants in multiple locations around the world. Another bus company is located in North America and is actively expanding its business in the US and Canada.
