EU antitrust authorities will approve chipmaker Broadcom's $ 5.5 billion acquisition of Brocade; Broadcom has previously made concessions to make it easier for customers and opponents to use the company's and competitors' products. Broadcom's compromise in interoperability means that customers can choose any switch brand on their network. Broadcom also promised to set up a Great Wall mechanism between the component R & D technical team and other R & D and marketing competitive equipment teams to ensure that confidentiality is not leaked. The European Commission is expected to agree to the merger by the May 12 deadline.
