Evonik, a German-based specialty chemical maker, said on Wednesday that the company has started producing ACRYLITE PMMA resins on another production line in Osceola, Arkansas.
The project was announced in January 2018, and the expansion will nearly double the production capacity of the base's specialty molded composites. Capacity and project costs were not disclosed.
Evonik said demand for ACRYLITE molding composites in the United States, Mexico and South America continues to grow.
"The launch of a new composite production line will support growing demand in North America, such as the demand for impact-resistant modified, piano black or diffusion-grade specialty acrylic-based composites." Siamak, Evonik's Performance Materials Division head of molding materials Djafarian said.
Key applications for the materials used in this line include automotive and lighting.
