Evonik CALOSTAT® building insulation sandwich panel wins the German Innovation Award in 2020

Evonik's CALOSTAT® sandwich panels for building insulation were re-recognized and won the Gold Award in the category of "Excellence for Business-to-Business Innovation – Architecture and Elements" at the 2020 German Innovation Award. The German Innovation Award recognizes cross-industry products and solutions that focus on user-centricity and creating added value.

Evonik has developed a new type of thermal insulation board, which uses CALOSTAT® high-performance materials as the core material. CALOSTAT® is a flame retardant, recyclable mineral material. With its thin, safe, and excellent long-term insulation performance, CALOSTAT® sandwich panels are widely used, especially suitable as heat insulation panels for ventilated curtain walls, double-layered masonry, or other closed narrow locations (such as skylights, downpipes, or rolls) Curtain and blind box rear side). CALOSTAT® sandwich panels save space needed for insulation materials and free up more living areas for sale or rent. When used in the renovation of historical brick buildings, etc., to retain the original structure of the building, CALOSTAT® sandwich panel is often the only insulation material that can be selected because it allows the builder to make full use of limited space to complete critical insulation Process. CALOSTAT® sandwich panel is pressed by pure mechanization, which is convenient for recycling.

The jury commented: "Evonik's new CALOSTAT® sandwich panel combines surface materials with different properties and a highly innovative CALOSTAT® high-performance insulation core material. Although this sheet has a thin appearance, it has thermal insulation properties Excellent and flame-retardant. In addition, the materials of each layer are combined by mechanization to facilitate subsequent separation and recycling. This excellent insulation material gives architects more choices while protecting the environment."

Dr. Bettina Gerharz-Kalte, Head of Evonik's Insulation Materials Growth Market, said: "All members of the CALOSTAT® team are very happy to receive this German Innovation Award. CALOSTAT® has been on the market soon, but it has been successfully recognized by the market. We will strive to develop to meet customer needs. 'S product portfolio provides new solutions for thermal insulation and fire protection. For us, this award is both a recognition of past work and an incentive for future work."

The German Innovation Award is hosted and awarded by the German Brand Design Committee.
