Canada DE haviland aircraft co. LTD announced the Expliseat ultralight seat as an optional feature of the Dash 8-400 aircraft. Expliseat uses advanced materials such as carbon fiber and titanium to produce the world's lightest aircraft seats. The TiSeat E2 weighs only 6.5 kilograms per passenger seat.
Dash 8-400 is a high-yield turboprop aircraft because of its short take-off and landing capabilities and efficient area operations, and it provides more flights per day than most other turboprop aircraft.
The aircraft also carries 14 more passengers than any other turboprop engine and has additional payload capacity to carry luggage while providing more range.
Crucially, the Dash 8-400 is the only turboprop aircraft that fully complies with FAA / EASA passenger weights in any additional capacity configuration. Expliseat's TiSeat E2 unique structure and the use of advanced materials such as carbon fiber have reduced the weight of each passenger by 6.5 kg. It is the lightest seat certified for Dash 8-400 aircraft installation. By using carbon fiber and titanium, which are the most corrosion resistant materials, aerospace certified, Expliseat has a long service life.
De Havilland Canada will be the exclusive supplier of Expliseat seats, which will be available on the production line or as a retrofit solution. Expliseat produces the lightest aircraft seats in the world, providing customers with the best transport efficiency and potential cost savings advantages through its new advanced technology.
