Famous French thermoplastic composites manufacturer DAHER wins Boeing’s thermoplastic composites contract

On January 24, 2018, DAHER Group, a well-known manufacturer of thermoplastic composite materials from France, has been selected as the supplier of Boeing Company and will provide thermoplastic composite structural components for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This is the first production supply contract signed between DAHER Group and Boeing.

The delivery and installation of these infrastructure components will be officially implemented in 2018 in accordance with the multi-year contract arrangement signed with the DAHER Group. They will be used to replace the thermoset composite components currently widely used in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Nicholas Ollance, Senior Vice President of DAHER Group and Aeronautics and Defense Division, said: “DAHER Group is very pleased to use thermoplastic composite technology as a link to open our cooperation with Boeing, which will further reduce the aviation structure of the aviation industry. The cost of components is of great significance.

De Laminate, Head of Business Development for the Americas, added: "We will now go all out to meet Boeing's expectations for this initial cooperation, and be prepared to explore all other possibilities to reduce manufacturing costs.

The DAHER Group's manufacturing capabilities and the rich experience accumulated over the years in this field will further optimize the application level of Boeing's thermoplastic composite structural parts and give birth to its replacement of the existing composite parts in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. DAHER Group's production plant in Nantes, France, has been certified by Boeing and will become a source of qualified thermoplastic composite parts.
