Formlabs launches castable wax resin for jewelry 3D printing

Formlabs has released a castable wax resin material for jewelry manufacturing that users can use to produce a variety of trinkets and equipment models. As the latest addition to its jewelry-centric resin line, this product focuses on the intricate details of desktop printing. Formlabs said: "The material is well-suited for rapidly expanding custom services and production."

Formlabs claims that this material produces zero ash content, accurately prints complex features, and guarantees a smooth surface.

Formlabs works closely with manufacturing partners (such as jewellery manufacturers in China, Japan, and India) to study its material properties to ensure that the resin is suitable for a variety of complex jewelry items such as pavés and large filigree bracelets.

It is understood that the resin is composed of 20% wax filling, which is cleaner and environmentally friendly when burning. In addition, the resin material is very easy to post-process. It only needs to be washed in isopropyl alcohol, which is very suitable for custom accessories and final production.

Wax resin supports printing resolutions of 50 to 25 microns. Formlabs is sold on its website for 301.29 Euros per liter.
