German honeycomb core manufacturer ThermHex Waben GmbH launches new honeycomb core

On November 11, ThermHex Waben GmbH, a German high-quality honeycomb core material manufacturer, reported that the company is launching a new honeycomb core material.

The latest polypropylene core material has a height of 20 mm and a unit size of 5 mm. This replaces the original larger honeycomb size, reducing it by nearly half. ThermHex said that such a small honeycomb size brings better surface quality and enables more applications, such as visible inner and outer surfaces of automobiles (in these cases, the core material has achieved A-level surface quality).

With these achievements, ThermHex also wants to expand its sales network globally, and is looking for more distributors, especially in Europe and the United States. The company said that its current goal is to achieve carbon-neutral production of core materials by the end of the first quarter of 2021, and it has already started the transformation this year to convert electricity supply to renewable resources.

"We are pleased with the company's achievements in the past ten years," said Dr. Jochen Pflug, CEO of ThermHex. "Our work has been constantly evolving because we support our customers to better meet the requirements for weight reduction and more effective use of natural resources. Through the weight reduction of structural parts, we can help reduce the impact on the environment and contribute to sustainable development. Contribute."

Now, reducing the impact on the environment during the production of honeycomb core materials and providing lightweight but hard core materials at a competitive price is the core of ThermHex's design and production process. According to the company, all honeycomb core materials are recyclable and have the characteristics of moisture resistance, acid resistance and alkali resistance. Currently, ThermHex company is working hard to achieve carbon neutrality of its products.

According to reports, since July this year, ThermHex has been using green power to produce honeycomb cores. The production process is based on renewable resources to generate electricity. The processing and monitoring of green power supply is certified according to TüV SüD CMS Standard 92. This guarantees the reliability and traceability of renewable resource power procurement, balance and delivery.
