The new plant is approximately 20 miles from Moraine, Ohio, where the DMAX engine plant is located. The new plant will deliver parts to DMAX starting next year. GM holds 60% of DMAX, while Isuzu holds 40%. The new plant occupies an area of 251,000 square feet and is expected to add 100 jobs in the future. Construction of the plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

Gerald Johnson, Executive Vice President of GM Global Production, said: "The market demand for the new GM Chevrolet and GMC heavy- and mid-size pickup trucks is strong, so we want to produce more Duramax diesel engines. The investment in Brookville will drive us to produce more The cylinder block and cylinder head, in turn, will allow the DMAX engine plant to supply more 6.6-liter diesel engines to the GM Flint truck assembly plant. "

In addition, GM signed a new labor contract with the United Automobile Association (UAW) last month, but the investment was not included. Like employees at the DMAX plant, the International Electronic Workers Union (IUE-CWA) Local 755 will act as a representative of Brookville plant workers, not the UAW.
