Gold nano-membrane material amplifies signals and accurately detects Coronavirus (COVID-19) virus antibodies

The application of new nanomaterials is very extensive, in Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic,Yesterday, at the 3rd World Top Scientist Forum Science Frontier Topics Lecture, Dai Hongjie, a leader in nano research, was invited to give a special report and shared the results of the research field of nano new materials.

Dai Hongjie currently works at Stanford University, During Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic pandemic period, he participated in a project related to Coronavirus (COVID-19) diagnostic project focuses on how to accurately detect Coronavirus (COVID-19) virus antibodies. In the near future, this important research result will be published. Dai Hongjie’s team developed a non-invasive detection method that does not require any blood extraction. This detection method uses a new material "gold nano film" to coat a nano-structured gold film on a glass slide, which has ideal plasmon characteristics. By amplifying the fluorescence signal, the near-infrared fluorescence that can be detected by the instrument is enhanced 50 to 100 times to complete more accurate detection.

Dai Hongjie introduced that based on nanomaterials, his research team has developed some successful detection methods. After the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, the team used the platform to detect antibodies to various Coronavirus (COVID-19) viruses and effectively distinguish them. He showed a set of data showing the sensitivity of detecting Coronavirus (COVID-19) virus with "golden nano" methods: It takes a certain time for the formation of antibodies, and the detection accuracy rate is 86% when the patient is infected for 6 days; when the infection is two weeks, the detection accuracy is 86%. The accuracy rate reaches 100%. Using this very sensitive nano-platform, antibody detection can be completed only by extracting the saliva of the subject, even if the concentration of antibodies in the saliva is very low.
