Henkel acquires American 3D printing company Molecule Corp

Henkel acquires Molecule Corp, a privately owned technology-driven company focused on product innovation in the area of additive manufacturing.

Molecule Corp provides advanced solutions for 3D printing applications-including medical equipment, aerospace, automotive and various consumer products-as well as industrial inkjet materials, affecting a wide variety of markets. This US-based company is headquartered in Concord (California) in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The acquisition is in line with Henkel's strategy to strengthen its portfolio through targeted acquisitions. It complements and strengthens Henkel's additive manufacturing (3D printing) technology portfolio of durable and functional components. It also enhances Henkel's ability to develop new materials or material components and facilitates industrial inkjet applications.

"Molecule's powerful 3D printing and inkjet resin technology and digital development capabilities perfectly complement and strengthen our material portfolio and build on our approach to provide comprehensive custom additive manufacturing solutions," Henkel's 3D printing director Philipp Loosen said.

"We are excited to join Henkel. Henkel's customer-centric approach and our comprehensive product portfolio will help key industries accelerate innovation and shift 3D printing from prototyping to digital manufacturing," said Ken Kisner, founder and president of Molecule Added.
