Huntsman introduced VITROX RTM 00410, a fast curing polyurethane resin system

Huntsman`s automotive experts have developed a new two-component fast-curing polyurethane resin system that can help optimize the production of complex three-dimensional composite parts with tight dimensional tolerances. VITROX RTM 00410 resin will be officially launched at JEC World 2020 in early March.

VITROX RTM 00410 resin meets the short cycle time requirements of the automotive industry. It combines flexibility, low viscosity, and an injection window that cures quickly at moderate mold temperatures. The injection window of VITROX RTM 00410 resin uses Huntsman's patented rapid curing technology, which can be fine-tuned by the manufacturer to suit the geometry of the parts produced.

VITROX RTM 00410 resin is compatible with high-pressure resin transfer molding (HP-RTM), dynamic fluid compression molding (DFCM) and wet compression molding technologies, providing excellent fiber wetting during injection and does not cause pressure buildup. This allows parts manufacturers to use low-density core materials. So manufacturers can make lighter sandwich parts with less resin without affecting their rigidity, strength and durability. Parts made from VITROX RTM 00410 can also be demolded quickly, helping manufacturers maximize production line productivity and reduce tool cleaning costs.
