Huntsman will promote various TPU elastomers for barriers, adhesives and surface protection films. For the barrier market, Huntsman produces a series of IROGRAN TPU. These highly durable, wear-resistant, puncture-resistant and tear-resistant elastomers are widely used in casual and industrial textiles, instantly cured pipe linings, and inflatable products.
The main products include IROGRAN A 80 P 5039 TPU and IROGRAN A 85 P 4394 TPU – two ether-based breathable membranes that can be used to manufacture pitched roof applications. In the field of adhesives, Huntsman provides a variety of solvent-free products, environmentally friendly permanent hot adhesive materials. These TPUs are sold under Huntsman's IROGRAN and IROSTIC brands and can provide new designs and performance for footwear and apparel manufacturing. IROGRAN A 60 E 4902 TPU is a key product for laminated apparel fabrics, and softness and elasticity are key requirements. In surface protection applications, KRYSTALGRAN TPU is known for its films with excellent wear resistance, scratch resistance and outdoor UV resistance. Product uses include edge protection for helicopter and wind turbine blades, textile coatings, transportation, footwear, apparel and luggage production of synthetic leather.
The main product is KRYSTALGRAN PN03-221 TPU, a standard solution for paint protection films for transportation and energy applications. During K 2019, Huntsman will also showcase its finished KRYSTALFLEX TPU film series for safety glass applications. KRYSTALFLEX TPU membranes are tough enough to remain intact in extreme glass environments, including aerospace industry, high-speed trains, and bulletproof applications.
