Huntsman’s polyurethane composite technology exhibited at the center booth at Gent Design Exhibition

Composite products based on polyurethane technology from global chemical company Huntsman are taking center stage at design exhibitions at the Gent Design Museum in Belgium.

Fiber Fixing: The design of composite materials showcases a range of products using fiber reinforced composites. The exhibition, which will open on April 21, 2019, is curated by Ignaas Verpoest of KU Leuven and LutPil of the LUCA Academy of Art, in collaboration with Dutch design groups.

Huntsman is the main sponsor of the Fixed Fibers Exhibition, providing financial support for event organizers and two exhibition projects. The company is exhibiting a rimline glass fiber reinforced pultruded window frame, and an ultra-lightweight license plate holder developed for the KTM 1290 Super Duke R motorcycle-a high-performance 1300cc / 170HP V engine Performance motorcycle.

The window frame uses Huntsman's RIMLINE resin technology, combined with a strong contour, which has excellent strength and weather resistance and low thermal conductivity. Innovative motorcycle license plate holder is based on Huntsman's VITROX resin technology and was created as part of the RACE project, which is led by KTM Technology, an engineering company with extensive expertise in composites and hybrid materials and their applications Industry Initiative.

"We are proud to be part of this exhibition and work with its curators to show the unique design that combines fiber and plastic into a composite structure. Composite materials surround us," said Irina Bolshakova, senior marketing manager at Huntsman Transportation EAMEI. The world is becoming more common, helping to reduce the weight of vehicles, making stronger building materials, and producing more comfortable furniture. This exhibition focuses on composite breakthroughs over the past five years and aims to provide attendees with A clear overview enables them to look forward to seeing composite products in the near future. "

"Huntsman is committed to developing plastic technology to make product designs more durable and sustainable," said Bart Vangrimde, Huntsman's EAMEI technology manager for polyurethane composites. We have the potential to make fiber-reinforced plastics that can be used to create exciting designs for the common objects we encounter every day. "
