On June 10, SABIC announced that Husco, a supplier of high-performance automotive parts, has successfully developed innovative technologies for next-generation automobiles using its ULTEM polyetherimide (PEI) resin, and hopes to further cooperate.
According to reports, ULTEM resin is an amorphous thermoplastic PEI resin, has excellent high temperature resistance and extremely high strength and stiffness, and can withstand various chemical substances, can achieve a perfect balance between mechanical properties and processability . ULTEM resin is mainly used in the electrohydraulic control valve assembly produced by Husco. These control valves can be applied to products such as variable valve timing, variable displacement oil pump control, and cylinder stop control, helping to improve fuel efficiency and vehicle performance. SABIC said that in order to meet market demand, the company is expanding capacity in Singapore and the United States, aiming to guarantee the supply of ULTEM resin worldwide.
