Important and special tungsten copper material

Tungsten copper materials are important and special in transient high temperature materials. Tungsten can be used at a temperature close to the melting point of tungsten and slightly higher than the melting point. It can complete the task in a few seconds to 200 seconds, so it is called a transient high temperature material. This type of material is mainly used to manufacture high temperature parts of spacecraft, such as rocket nozzles, air rudders in the direction of missiles, and missile ends (nose cones, nose cones) and other parts.

Ablation resistance and thermal shock resistance are the most important characteristics of instantaneous high-temperature materials, because the gas temperature of solid fuels is generally as high as 2700~3300°C, and the airflow contains large solid particles. It is used for nozzles, air rudders and other components. Scrubbing and ablation; these parts work under conditions of rapid temperature rise (warming up to working temperature in a few seconds), causing severe thermal shock damage to the parts. Finally, when the plane flies into space and enters the atmosphere, it is subject to high temperature and erosion due to the strong friction of the particle cloud due to its high speed. Tungsten copper material is a preferred material to meet the above requirements.

With the successful development and development of carbon-carbon (C-C) fiber composite materials, rocket nozzle throat linings are increasingly used to make them due to their light weight and thermal shock resistance. However, its ablation resistance is much lower than that of tungsten copper materials. For those nozzles, air rudders and other components that require high ablation resistance, tungsten-based materials are still needed.
