International automotive lighting systems and electronics solutions leader Hella and Nebula join hands to create smart car solutions

As the automotive industry landscape changes, parts suppliers are accelerating innovation to meet the challenges posed by new trends and new technologies. A few days ago, Shanghai Hella Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., a venture capital company of Hella, signed an investment cooperation agreement with Beijing Xingyun Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd., a high-tech company specializing in next-generation intelligent transportation systems and intelligent connected car technology.

According to the agreement, the two parties will complement each other on the basis of this investment and cooperation agreement based on their respective advantages to create an advanced vehicle networking solution and jointly promote the development of intelligent vehicle-road collaboration in China.

Prospective technology, autonomous driving, Hella, Nebula Interconnect

As a 100-year-old family-owned company, Hella first produced and manufactured lighting and electronics for the automotive industry. In the annual report released recently, the adjusted EBIT profit for the 2018/2019 fiscal year increased by 5.9% to 585 million euros. Benefiting from the OEM's demand for automotive lighting systems and electronic solutions, especially in driver assistance systems and energy management, sales in the automotive sector increased by 6.1% to 5.8 billion euros.

In fact, in order to optimize future travel solutions, Haila joined the world ’s largest startup incubator “Plug and Play” in 2015 to keep up with the global automotive industry development trend. At the end of 2018, Hella expanded innovation incubation and investment services to China, and established Shanghai Hella Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. and officially put it into operation. The cooperation with Nebula also means that Hella will follow the trend of autonomous vehicles and actively seek new development opportunities in this field.

It is reported that Hella's current product and technology layout covers key components and solutions for vehicle environment perception, including radar sensors and front camera software. However, autonomous driving, especially high-level and full-scene autonomous driving, cannot rely solely on sensors. It also requires the efficient collaboration of V2X to allow people, cars, roads, and the cloud to truly integrate, thereby achieving safe, efficient, and comfortable travel. .

Frank Petznick, executive vice president of Hella Group's autonomous driving and Hella's China Electronics Division, said: "Hella has been deeply involved in the Chinese market for several years, and has always taken the mainstream market trend as an important foothold in the company's layout. Cooperation with Nebula, let us There are more opportunities and goals to help China's V2X development, so as to better achieve autonomous driving. "

Regarding the formal cooperation between the two parties, Nebula CEO Pan Jun said: "With the cooperation of Hella, we can form complementary advantages from the car end to the road end. The integration of vehicle-road collaboration and intelligent sensors and systems can eliminate the original existence of bicycle intelligence. The blind spots that enable safe, efficient and comfortable intelligent driving development have become the hard core for realizing full-scene autonomous driving. "
