SHTC Advanced Materials Technology Group, a leading manufacturer of biodegradable polyester PBAT/PBS materials in China, has joined hands with BASF to build a 100,000-ton PBAT biodegradable plastic production base in Shanghai Chemical Park.
Relying on international advanced technology, the company explores and optimizes the production process of biodegradable polyester PBAT, and actively develops processing formulas. The company and Beijing Technology and Business University established a joint development center for biodegradable materials. SHTC has publicly issued convertible bonds to raise 994.5 million to invest in the first phase of a 100,000-ton degradable biomaterials project, 60,000-ton rubber additives expansion, new high-efficiency hydrocracking catalysts, and olefin expansion projects. The new plant is planned to be put into operation in 2022 to supply the global biodegradable plastics market.
