JOONGWOO M-Tech Phase I UTG/Ultra Thin Glass production line achieved mass production, Phase II monthly production capacity of 1 million pieces of investment completed evaluation

JOONGWOO M-Tech, a UTG processing company, is preparing for further development of the global mobile phone market by building a South Korean mass production line. It plans to actively capture the folding market through the exclusive technology to improve UTG processing yield and the Korean production base.

According to a recent report by Korean media Etnews, JOONGWOO M-Tech has recently built a 7-inch UTG mass production line with a monthly capacity of 200,000 pieces in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, and has begun to use it. According to the unprocessed UTG motherboard benchmark, the monthly production capacity is 20,000.

JOONGWOO M-Tech has been cooperating with laser equipment factory BSP for the past 2 years, and successfully developed the exclusive UTG processing technology'LMCE (Laser Modification Chemical Etching)' in 2019. While reducing the fragments of the glass mother board, it can be used for cutting, etching, and corner grinding.

Achieve multiple processing on one glass mother board at the same time, and make the required thickness in the shortest time; reducing UTG processing steps and achieving yield improvement are all the advantages of the company's technology. Compared with the traditional mechanical process, this technology greatly reduces the glass fragments, and the yield rate can reach more than 80%.

JOONGWOO M-Tech representative Park Sangsoo said: This production line will become a high-quality manufacturing base for global mobile phone manufacturers and panel manufacturers. Under the sluggish environment of various industries caused by the epidemic, the company still focused on UTG mass production and finally completed the first phase of construction.

Recently, at the online SID, a number of panel manufacturers have demonstrated folding and rollable OLED panels as the next-generation display technology. And mainstream mobile phone manufacturers in the market are also accelerating the development of folding mobile phones.

JOONGWOO M-Tech has also recently completed the evaluation of the investment plan for the second phase of the monthly production capacity of 1 million pieces. The aim is to build a mass production system ahead of the UTG market growth to capture global demand.

JOONGWOO M-Tech passed LMCE technology, UTG processing yield has been increased to 80%. Based on this, the company is actively promoting it to Korean panel makers. In addition, international mobile phone manufacturers are actively evaluating GMF (Glass Mid Frame) products that improve folding screen folds.

JWC, an affiliate of JOONGWOO M-Tech, recently introduced UTG products and GMF to major customers leading the global folding mobile phone market, and received positive responses.

JOONGWOO M-Tech representative Park Sangsoo said: Based on UTG production technology, the company is simultaneously evaluating its entry into the LCD protective film market. The company will actively respond to the needs of the display market and be the first to meet customer needs, determined to be listed in South Korea within 3 years.
