K 2019:Teknor Apex showcases Creamid P-series polyamide 6 (PA 6) compounds

Creamid® P series polyamide 6 (PA 6) compounds absorb up to one-third less water than typical PA6 when saturated, resulting in 15-25% improvement in wet tensile properties and higher fluidity And better surface properties, even in formulations with higher glass fiber fill rates. Teknor Apex Company will introduce these compounds at K 2019 (Hall 6, Booth C58-01).

The Creamid P series, designed by Teknor Apex, is the latest high-performance specialty polyamide series. It is suitable for structural parts that replace metal. Based on advanced formulation technology, Teknor Apex is able to reduce the water absorption of various polyamide 6 and 6/66 compounds, including various glass / mineral reinforcements, impact materials, flame retardant materials and other specialty compounds. In addition, based on advanced thermal stabilization systems, Creamid P-series compounds retain excellent physical properties at long-term high temperatures.

At K 2019, the company will first launch two Creamid P compounds with glass fiber contents of 30% and 50%, respectively. After 24 hours of humidity regulation, these compounds absorb about 80% less water than typical polyamide 6, and saturated water absorbs about 30% less than the latter. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, Creamy P2H7G6 and Creamy P3H2G10 exhibit higher tensile modulus and tensile strength at break than typical PA6.

Markus Krippner, Director of New Business Development ETP, said: "In the past, PA 6 compounds were not capable of certain structural applications due to their high water absorption, but now Creamin P series compounds have significantly improved wet tensile properties and therefore can These applications are required. Similarly, this technology is also suitable for optimizing the properties of polyamide 66 compounds. "

In the spiral fluid flow test, these new compounds showed higher fluidity than typical polyamide 6, but the mold shrinkage levels were similar to the latter, so they could be processed using existing equipment and molds.

Creamid P-series compounds are available worldwide. Teknor Apex currently sells several standard grade products, but as a high-performance modified plastics producer, they are happy to work closely with each customer to develop a variety of customized high-performance plastics.
