In Medicaroid's surgery support robot system business, Kawasaki Heavy Industries has jointly developed the hinotori Surgical Robot System and the instruments, leveraging the technology and know-how of industrial robots.
The robot has 4 mechanical arms, which are equipped with surgical instruments such as scalpels and endoscopes. Doctors can remotely operate the system and perform surgical operations.
In the demonstration conducted on the 18th, two mechanical arms cleverly sutured the simulated wounds of the internal organs model under the operation of the staff.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan stated that the system is the first Japanese-made surgical robot approved by the government for production and sales.
